How Do I Delete My Browser Cache?

In all browser applications, it can happen in rare cases that the presentation is incorrect or incomplete.In most cases, the browser cache turns out to be the malefactor: In order to load websites faster, parts of the websites are cached by the browser. Some changes may then not be displayed immediately. This does not mean that these changes are lost! To make sure that factro works reliably, the cache should be deleted in such exceptional situations. In the following, we show you how to delete the cache in the browsers we support.

Apple Safari

macOS

  • Click on the button “Safari” in the upper menu bar.
  • Click on the button “Settings”. A new tab opens.
  • Select the tab “Privacy”.
  • Click on “Manage Website Data”. A field opens.
  • Click on the button “Remove all”.

Google Chrome

Windows

  • Click on the menu symbol (three dots) to the right of the address bar.
  • Select the button “More tools”. An additional menu will open.
  • Click on “Clear browsing data”. A small window will open in a new tab.
  • Choose the time period for which you want to delete. The last hour is set by default.
  • Click on “Clear data”.

macOS

  • Click on “Chrome” in the upper menu bar.
  • Click on “Clear browsing data”. A small window will open in a new tab.
  • Choose the time period for which you want to delete. The last hour is set by default.
  • Click on “Clear data”.

Mozilla Firefox

Windows

  • Click on the menu symbol (three horizontal lines) to the right of the address bar.
  • Click on “Preferences”. A new tab will open.
  • Select the tab “Privacy & Security” on the left sidebar.
  • Click “Clear data” in the section “Cookies and site data”. A small window will open.
  • Check the box “Cached web content” and click on “Clear”.

macOS

  • Click on “History” in the upper menu bar and then on “Clear recent history”.
  • Select the time period for which you want to delete under “Time range to clear”.
  • Check the box “Cache” under the item “History”.
  • Finally, click on “Ok”.

Microsoft Edge

Windows

  • Click on the three dots to the right of the address bar.
  • Select “Settings” and then click on “Privacy and services” on the left sidebar.
  • In the section “Clear browsing data” click on “Choose what to clear”. A small window will appear.
  • Check the box “Cookies and other site data” and click on “Clear now”.

macOS

  • Click on the three dots to the right of the address bar.

  • Click on the red “O” in the left upper corner.
  • Click on “Settings”. An additional menu will open.
  • Click on “Privacy & Security” on the left sidebar and then “Clear browsing data”.
  • A small window will appear, where you can select the time period.
  • Check the box “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files”.
  • Afterwards, click on “Clear browsing data”.

macOS

  • Click on “Opera” in the upper menu bar.
  • Choose “Clear private data”.
  • Click on “Privacy & Security” on the left sidebar and then “Clear browsing data”.
  • A small window will appear, where you can select the time period.
  • Check the box “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files”.
  • Finally, click on “Clear browsing data”.
