How Can I Link Projects to Each Other?

Show predecessor-successor relationships of projects

Create project connections

Connect your projects as predecessors and successors to make a clear sequence of projects visible. To do this, navigate to the timeline, where you can see all your projects displayed in a Gantt chart.

Setting dependencies in the timeline works in the same way as in the Gantt chart:

  1. Move the mouse over the bar of the project that you would like to connect. A gray circle appears now to the right of the bar, which you can click. Continue to hold the mouse button pressed. A blue arrow will now show up, which you can drag with your mouse to the project you want to connect.
  2. This creates a dependency (or dependencies) between the selected projects. The first project you select becomes the predecessor task. The second project you click on becomes the successor task.
  3. As a result an arrow appears between the now interdependent projects, which is now pointing in the direction of the successor project. If the arrow is red, this means that the successor project is ahead of the predecessor project in terms of time and is therefore in a time conflict.

View connections in the schedule

The cross-project timeline gives you an overview of the projects that are running in your cloud and for which you have at least reading rights.

Based on the arrows, you can recognize the connections between the projects. If you change the time period of a project in this view, you can immediately detect which consequences occur for following projects because of the red arrow.

Receive notifications

If a project is postponed, the officers of the subsequent projects are informed and can therefore consult more quickly if necessary, should the delay also have consequences for their own projects.
