How Do I Add SharePoint Documents to factro?

With the SharePoint integration in factro, it is possible to include SharePoint links in tasks, packages, projects, comments and the task description. This means that SharePoint can be used as a central document management system.

Important: Access to the documents is controlled via SharePoint.

Setting up the SharePoint integration

Please note: To be able to do the setup, you must be the admin for the factro cloud and also in the SharePoint environment.

  1. To start the setup, click on the “Settings” tab at the bottom left.
  2. There you switch to the “Team management” tab.
  3. In this menu, you will find the “Integrations” tab further down, click on it to open another tab of the same name below it, which you need to click on again.
  4. You will now see an overview of the possible integrations. To integrate SharePoint, click on the corresponding button.
  5. A screen will open in which you need to enter two details: the SharePoint URL (you can find this in SharePoint itself) and the factro client ID. This can be easily viewed via the link provided.

  6. The setup is complete with a click on "Integrate SharePoint" and you can now store SharePoint links in factro.

Uploading documents from SharePoint

Documents can be uploaded from SharePoint to all the places where this was previously possible with other files.
To do this, click on the paperclip icon in the description field of a task, for example, and then select “From SharePoint”. If you have not yet logged in to Microsoft, a login screen will now appear. Your SharePoint repository then opens, and you select the document you want to upload. Unlike other linked files, you will find all SharePoint files in the document overview.
