How Do I Create Project Views?

The aim: Provide the project views and information your team needs. Detached from the standard structure, table, kanban and gantt views.

The problem: Although the existing views also give insight into the project, I can only get the complete overview for everyone via the project structure tree.

The solution: factro project views. Read on to find out how they work.

How do I add project views?

By default, every project starts with the two standard Structure and Gantt views. You can add more custom views by using the “+” symbol in the menu bar, where you can also switch between all currently available project views.

You now have the option of either adding a suggested view by factro or selecting a custom view from the “Structure”, “Kanban”, “Table” or “Gantt” views and refining it with filters.

Project views by factro

In addition to the structure, table, kanban and gantt views, factro suggests further catalog views that you can add with a single click and instantly benefit from a better overview:

  1. the task list is a kanban board divided by person – perfect for the morning daily with an overview of the day's scheduled tasks.
  2. the disturber view shows you all tasks at risk (yellow and red) – great for supporting each other and eliminating problems directly and in real time.
  3. in the milestone plan, managers or external parties can focus on the next most important stages of the project with a single click.

Create your own custom view

To create your own project view, select an additional structure, Kanban, Gantt or table view, or one of the catalog views by factro, which you can then customize to your liking.

For example, if you select the task list, you can configure it using the settings menu (gear icon). This means that you can group and sort your custom view according to various criteria, define the columns, etc. The possibilities are endless!

💡 Each view can be fully customized. You can edit the name and decide the order in which the views are displayed in the menu bar.

Arranging and deleting views

You can arrange the tabs and change the order in which the views are displayed in the menu bar by dragging and dropping them in the “Project settings” section of the settings menu. You can delete a view by clicking the trash can icon on the right.

Note:

Guest users can only see the first two views within a project. Take this into consideration when arranging the project views.

Renaming views

You have the option to rename each project view. To do this, navigate to the settings menu, then “View settings” -> “Options” -> “Rename”.
